Welcome to GCHA

Founded in 1965, Green Country Health Care Association is a non-profit organization representing long term care providers of members with approximately 4,000 licensed beds. GCHA is a community-based organization that provides education and information through advocacy. Through strong networking GCHA is dedicated to professionalism and ethical behavior among all who provide long term care. The purpose of the organization is to promote cooperation, coordination and understanding between its members, health care professionals, institutions, associations, groups, individuals and public agencies.
All too frequently the need for nursing home care comes at a time of crisis and the selection of nursing home has to be rushed. Our Association invites seniors and their families to visit the member nursing homes in their area to familiarize themselves with the services that are available. Then, if a crisis arises, the selection of a desirable nursing home will be a smoother transition. The Association maintains a Speakers Bureau for groups and organizations desiring information concerning the needs of the elderly and how nursing homes can assist. There is no charge for this service. To request a speaker, contact the President.
We invite you to contact any home listed for information concerning admission or programs. Develop a list of possible nursing facilities (a must!) to visit. (Get Recommendations from clergy, friends, social workers, nurses, physicians, family members, etc.) Write a list of questions you wish to ask.
GCHA believes that the individuals served are entitled to a supportive environment in which professional and compassionate care is delivered. GCHA works to educate the public and its members on public policies and regulatory principles for quality long term care and quality of life. GCHA represents licensed nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice groups, long-term care and other allied healthcare organizations.
